Who we are (Data Controller)

The data controller for Wordy Bunch is:

Wordy Bunch is a trade mark of Brainy Bunch Games Limited. Reddit is not us — Reddit runs the platform the game lives on, and Reddit's own handling of your account and activity is governed by Reddit's privacy policy.

What we collect, and why

The game stores the items below on Reddit's own storage (Redis) through the Developer Platform. This storage is kept separately for each community, so your play in one subreddit is not mixed with another.

• Reddit username — the public username you already use on Reddit. We use it to show who is on the leaderboard and league standings, to remember your daily streak and stats, and to award your title flair. We never receive your Reddit password or email.
• Game stats and progress — your score, the number of words you found, your best word, your daily and weekly streak, which titles you have unlocked, and the title you have chosen to display. Used to build leaderboards and standings, and to show your own progress.
• Leaderboard and standings entries — your username and score for a given day, stored so the community can see the rankings for that day, week, and month.
• Avatar image address — the web address of your Reddit avatar (snoovatar), fetched from Reddit and cached for about 24 hours so your avatar can appear next to your score. If you have no avatar, a simple initial is shown instead.
• Reminder opt-in (only if you turn it on) — if you switch on the optional daily reminder, we store your username together with your device's time-zone offset, so a single hourly job can message you at about 9pm in your local time. This is removed the moment you switch the reminder off.

Sharing your result as a comment

When you finish a grid you can choose to post your result as a comment. If you do, the game builds a small picture of your result. To draw that picture it sends a web link to card.php on our own website (wordybunch.co.uk) containing: your score, the number of words you found, your best word length, your streak, your Reddit username, the date, your light or dark theme, and the letters of the grid.

• Reddit fetches that picture from our site and posts it as a comment by you, under the day's post.
• card.php uses those details only to draw the picture. It does not store them, log them, or track you in any way — nothing is written to a database or a file.
• Sharing is entirely your choice. If you never tap "share", nothing is sent to card.php.

Optional reminder and league messages

The reminder is off until you turn it on, from the prompt after a game or from Settings. When it is on, the game sends you a private Reddit message at roughly 9pm your local time, on days it thinks you might like a nudge. You can turn it off at any time in Settings, which deletes your reminder record. Moderators of a community can also pause reminders for everyone in that community.

What we do not collect

• Your email address, real name, phone number, or postal address.
• Your Reddit password — the game never sees it.
• Payment information — the game is free and has no purchases of any kind.
• Location data (GPS, IP-based, or otherwise). The only location-related value we ever use is the time-zone offset you provide when you opt in to reminders, and only to time that message.
• Device advertising identifiers, contacts, calendar, photos, or microphone.
• Third-party analytics or advertising SDKs — there are none. We do not use Google Analytics, Firebase, Amplitude, or any behavioural-tracking service, and there are no ads.

Third-party services

• Reddit Developer Platform — the game runs on Reddit's own infrastructure. Reddit provides the storage (Redis), the messaging, the flair, and hosts the game itself. Your use of Reddit is governed by Reddit's privacy policy and user agreement.
• wordybunch.co.uk/card.php — our own website endpoint, used only to draw the result-card picture described above. It stores and logs nothing.

We do not embed advertising SDKs, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics.

Children

Wordy Bunch is a general-audience word game with no adult content. It is played on Reddit, and Reddit's own rules require account holders to meet Reddit's minimum age. Because the only personal data we handle is the public Reddit username and game stats of an existing Reddit account, we do not knowingly collect additional information from children.

Data retention

• Stats, streaks, and titles — kept so your progress and streak survive between days. Removed on request (see "Your rights").
• Leaderboard and standings entries — kept so past days, weeks, and months can still be viewed.
• Avatar image address — cached for about 24 hours, then refreshed or dropped.
• Reminder opt-in — kept only while your reminder is switched on; deleted as soon as you switch it off.
• Shared result comments — these are ordinary Reddit comments posted by you; you can edit or delete them from Reddit like any other comment.

Your rights

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability.

• Turn off reminders at any time in Settings — this deletes your reminder record straight away.
• Delete a shared comment directly on Reddit, the same way you delete any comment.
• Ask us to remove your game data. Email contact@brainybunchgames.co.uk with your Reddit username and we will remove your stats, streak, titles, reminder opt-in, and leaderboard entries within 7 days.

Right to complain. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the UK supervisory authority: the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF — ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to address your concern first.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes — a new category of data or a new service — will be noted here before they take effect.
